We are preparing for a move. What are some
tips for going through and getting rid of 'stuff'
that we haven't used for the six months its all
been in storage.  I need help motivating my
husband and myself.

Answer
You have made a terrific decision to sort
through your items
BEFORE moving them into
your new home.  The key question you should
ask yourself as you evaluate your current
possessions is:
"IF I didn't own it, would I BUY
it NOW for my new home?"

The second question is to consider whether
you
NEED the item.  Try to eliminate duplicate
items as you do not need two toasters, five
staplers, etc.  Be tough on this one, just
because you found it useful at one time,
doesn't mean the item has value now.  

Would you MISS the item if it was lost?  If you
can answer NO to this, you can probably part
with it.  Since your items have been in storage
for 6 months, you have a better idea of what you
NEED and ACTUALLY USE every day.
